Camping

Cost:

  • There is no cost for camping.


Camping Preparations:


  1. There is no RV hook ups so you will need to be fully self contained.
  2. The track is located in the High Desert and is prone to very dry conditions and has been at risk for grass fires in the past.
  3. To prevent fires, please ask at the gate or other track personnel before lighting any fires including BBQs and fire pits.
  4. We have no permanent restroom facility.
  5. You will find regularly maintained portable units throughout the pit and parking areas.

  • A food cart is normally on hand for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • The Booster Booth is located behind the tower.
  • Various souvenirs and additional information is available at the  Booster Booth.

LOCATION INFORMATION

Location: Located in Central Oregon in the heart of Jefferson County. The nearest major highway and distance is, US Hwy 97 / US, and Hwy 26. Nearest Major City and Distance: Bend, Oregon, 45 miles, Estimated Drive Time: 50 minutes. Distance to Portland: 118 miles

DIRECTIONS

Coming from the South to Madras, continue through Madras to the top of the hill north. At the top, turn left and follow NW Depot Rd. It magically turns into NW Birch Lane at the Rail Road tracks. Stay on Birch Lane for about 1.4 miles and turn right at NW Adler Road. After .10 miles turn left onto Daimler Road. After .10 miles turn left onto Leland James Road. Follow the Madras Dragstrip signs on in.
 
Coming from the North, before going down the hill into Madras, turn right at the next road, NW Depot Rd after you cross the Rail Road overpass. Follow this for about 1.4 miles turn and turn right at NW Adler Road. After .10 miles turn left onto Daimler Road. After .10 miles turn left onto Leland James Road. Follow the Madras Dragstrip signs on in.

Rain Out Policy

If racing is canceled due to inclement weather conditions:
Racers will be issued a race pass, if they make no passes down the track. If a racer makes one or more passes, then he/she will not be eligible for a race pass. Also note that all race days will be held as scheduled even if the forecast shows precipitation. Remember that the weather is not always as forecasted.

NOTICE TO ALL COMPETITORS

Madras Dragstrip is an NHRA member track. All events unless noted otherwise are conducted under the guidelines of the official NHRA rule book. The decisions of the track officials and technical inspectors are to be regarded as final. Any complaints may be directed to the track manager for consideration. Irrational or unsportsmanlike behavior will be grounds for expulsion from the facility.

DRIVERS BETWEEN AGES 16 and 17.

All licensed competitors (or passengers ) between the ages of 16 and 17 must submit a completed and signed Parental Consent form before participating at any event. Forms are available at the track, or we will happily mail you the form to and bring with you on race day. Please contact us with your mailing address.
